All Governors are appointed by Tenax Schools Trust, with the exception of the two parent governors who were elected by parents and the staff governor who was elected by the staff.

Our local governing body also includes the Headteacher, Mrs Tina Holditch.

Our Clerk to the Governors is Mrs Philippa Gibbs.

Our governing body meets once every other term, three times a year.

The roles and responsibilities of the Local Governing Body are:

  • Standards and Safeguarding
  • Ethos, Character and Local Traditions
  • Working with Parents and the Local Community

Further details of the LGB’s roles and responsibilities are contained in the Terms of Reference document below.

Individual governors also take on specific responsibilities as “link governors” for arrears of the curriculum and aspects of the school’s life.  These are detailed in the school’s Local Governing Body Information document below.

The Chair of Governors, Mrs Sue Forsey, can be contacted in writing via the Clerk to the Governing Body, Mrs Philippa Gibbs, either by post using the school postal address, or by email: clerk.governors@Leybourne.kent.sch.uk

We are fortunate to have such a dedicated board of governors who are very active within the school; regularly coming into school and sharing in the learning and teaching taking place.

Feedback on Parent Survey

Dear Parents & Carers

The Governing Body would like to extend its thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the Questionnaire.

The results have been collated and scrutinised by the Senior Management Team and discussed at a Full Governors’ Meeting in April 2015.

While the overall figures remain very positive we are aware that there is always room for improvement, and any comments left by those completing the questionnaire were very helpful in highlighting any concerns parents may have.

The key results were:

– 95% would recommend the school to another parent

– 99% agreed that “My child is well looked after at school”

– 99% agreed that “My child is taught well at school”

– 97% agreed that “My child makes good progress at school”

– 87% agreed that “The school is well led and managed”

This is such a useful tool for us; and gives us a good insight into your opinions. Thanks again to those that completed it and we would ask that as many parents and carers let your views be known through future surveys.
